Nissan Motor India recorded one of its strongest monthly performances in recent years in July 2026, supported by the arrival of the new Tekton SUV and steady demand for the Magnite. The company reported 4,518 domestic wholesale units during the month, marking a substantial 218.17% year-on-year increase over the 1,420 units sold in July 2025.
Nissan also posted a 50.30% month-on-month improvement, with domestic dispatches rising from 3,006 units in June 2026. The strong performance indicates improving momentum for the Japanese automaker as it expands its SUV-focused product portfolio in India.

Tekton Gives Nissan a Strong Start
The introduction of the Tekton was the biggest contributor to Nissan's July momentum. Customer deliveries of the new SUV began on 20 July, following its market launch on 9 July.
Despite being available for only part of the month, the Tekton recorded 1,670 units in its first month. This gives the new SUV an encouraging start in India's highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
Its first-month volume was close to established products such as the Tata Curvv and Honda Elevate and ahead of several other SUVs, including the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Renault Duster.
The segment remains highly competitive, with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Tata Sierra attracting significant demand. However, the Tekton's early performance gives Nissan a positive base from which to build volumes as production and availability increase.
The Magnite remained an important contributor to Nissan's domestic performance. The compact SUV recorded 1,462 units in July 2026, compared with 1,167 units in June.
This represents a month-on-month improvement and shows that the Magnite continues to maintain a presence in India's sub-four-metre SUV segment even as Nissan introduces newer products.
With the Tekton now joining the Magnite, Nissan has a broader SUV portfolio covering different price and size categories.
Nissan's July performance was not limited to the domestic market. The company exported 4,821 vehicles during the month, exceeding its domestic wholesale volume of 4,518 units.
Including both domestic and export dispatches, Nissan recorded 9,339 total wholesale units in July 2026.
The figures highlight the continued importance of India as a manufacturing and export base for Nissan. Vehicles for both domestic and international markets are produced at the manufacturing facility in Chennai, which is now fully owned by Renault following changes to the Renault-Nissan alliance structure.
The plant manufactures Nissan's India-bound portfolio as well as vehicles destined for overseas markets, including the Magnite, Gravite and new Tekton.
Nissan's improvement is also visible in its cumulative sales performance.
Between April and July 2026, the company recorded 13,675 domestic wholesale units, compared with 5,912 units during the same period a year earlier. This represents a strong 131.31% year-on-year increase.
Looking at the broader January-July 2026 period, Nissan's domestic dispatches reached 22,815 units, compared with 13,143 units in the corresponding period of 2025. This translates into a 73.59% growth.
The combination of stronger Magnite demand and the early contribution from the Tekton is helping Nissan rebuild its presence in the Indian passenger-vehicle market. With the Tekton expected to be available for a full month going forward, the company's sales performance could gain further momentum in the coming months.
