Kylaq Remains Skoda's Main Sales Engine
The Skoda Kylaq continued to dominate the brand's portfolio, contributing 3,727 units, or around 65% of Skoda's total July sales.
Its sales increased 10.36% YoY, with the SUV adding 350 units compared with July 2025. On a monthly basis, however, sales fell 7.72% from 4,039 units in June.
The Slavia occupied second place with 993 units. The sedan recorded a 14.98% YoY decline and an 8.31% MoM drop. Skoda is preparing to introduce the updated Slavia, which could help revive demand in the coming months.
The Kushaq followed with 833 units, registering declines of 7.55% YoY and 16.03% MoM.
At the premium end, the Kodiaq was Skoda's fastest-growing model in percentage terms. It sold 156 units, up from 106 units in July 2025, representing 47.17% YoY growth. Improved availability also helped it post a similar monthly increase.
Volkswagen recorded 2,715 units in July 2026, compared with 3,212 units during July 2025.
This represents a decline of 497 units or 15.47% YoY. However, the brand showed encouraging sequential improvement, with sales rising from 2,467 units in June to 2,715 units in July — a 10.05% MoM increase.
The Volkswagen Virtus remained the brand's top-selling model, generating 1,420 units and accounting for approximately 52% of Volkswagen's total July volume.
Despite a 20.98% YoY decline, the sedan showed a strong recovery over June, with sales increasing 18.83% from 1,195 units.
Volkswagen is expected to introduce an updated version of the Virtus ahead of the festive season, which could provide additional momentum to the sedan.
The Taigun finished second with 1,225 units. Its sales declined 7.69% YoY, while monthly volumes improved 3.64%.
The Tayron recorded 45 units, marginally higher than the 43 units registered in June. The Tiguan managed 23 units, while the Golf recorded just two units during the month.
Looking across both brands, the Kylaq emerged as the biggest volume contributor, playing a crucial role in keeping Skoda's overall sales growth positive.
The Kylaq, Slavia and Kushaq together generated more than 97% of Skoda's July volume, highlighting the company's heavy dependence on its core SUV and sedan portfolio.
Volkswagen's sales continued to rely primarily on the Virtus and Taigun, which together accounted for the overwhelming majority of its monthly deliveries.
What's Next?
The coming months could be important for both brands. Skoda's updated Slavia and Volkswagen's expected Virtus facelift could inject fresh interest into their respective portfolios, while the Kylaq is likely to remain Skoda's key volume driver.
For Volkswagen, the key challenge will be converting its recent 10.05% month-on-month recovery into sustained year-on-year growth as the festive season approaches
