Porsche is preparing to officially introduce the Cayenne Electric in India on September 30, 2026. The new electric luxury SUV will strengthen the brand's growing electric vehicle portfolio in the country and will be positioned as a premium alternative to other high-performance electric SUVs.
The Cayenne Electric is already listed for the Indian market, with the starting price reported at around Rs. 1.77 crore (ex-showroom). The performance-focused Cayenne Turbo Electric is positioned higher, at around Rs. 2.27 crore (ex-showroom).
The India range is expected to include the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric variants.
The Cayenne Electric is equipped with a large 113kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. The standard Cayenne Electric can produce up to 442 PS with launch control and delivers 0-100 kmph acceleration in around 4.8 seconds.
Porsche claims an electric driving range of up to around 643km, depending on the configuration and testing cycle. The SUV also supports high-speed DC charging, allowing the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 16 minutes under suitable charging conditions.
The vehicle also supports regenerative braking, helping recover energy while driving and improving overall efficiency.
For buyers looking for stronger performance, the Cayenne Turbo Electric offers significantly higher output. It develops up to 1,156 PS and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds.
The Turbo Electric has an electronically limited top speed of around 260 kmph. Despite its performance-focused setup, Porsche has also focused on everyday usability, comfort and long-distance driving.
Both versions feature all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension, while additional chassis and steering technologies are available depending on the variant and optional equipment.
Inside, the Porsche Cayenne Electric gets a modern cabin with a large digital display setup. The SUV features a 14.5-inch curved infotainment touchscreen, while a separate passenger display can also be offered.
Other highlights include electrically adjustable front seats, four-zone automatic climate control, ventilated seats, a panoramic roof and wireless smartphone charging.
One of the notable technologies is Porsche's wireless charging system, which can support charging at up to 11kW with the compatible setup.
Despite its sporty design, the Cayenne Electric offers a spacious cabin and practical storage. It measures around 4,985mm in length and has a wheelbase of approximately 3,023mm.
The SUV also gets a front luggage compartment and a large rear boot, making it more practical for everyday use compared with many performance-focused EVs.
